The local non-profit group promotes bicycle safety and encourages bicycling as a healthy transportation alternative.
January 27, 2017, Tampa, FL - Coppertail Brewing Co., one of Florida’s premier craft breweries, is pleased to announce a partnership with Tampa citizen advocacy group, Walk Bike Tampa. The new sponsorship arrangement will mean convenient, safe, and free bike parking for hundreds at Tampa area events.
Coppertail will sponsor bike valet services at local events in cooperation with Walk Bike Tampa, which has contracted with industry leader, Two Wheel Valet. Bike valet services are free for cyclists, and are in the planning stages for several upcoming events including several at Curtis Hixon Park.
“When you show up on your bike to the events we’ll be sponsoring, you won’t have to worry about where to put it,” said Gary Kost, Marketing Director of Coppertail Brewing Co. “You can check in your bike and be on your way. While you’re enjoying yourself, staff with bike valet will ensure your bike is secure. Often, light bike maintenance and safety gear will be available to make sure your bike is safe and ready for the ride home.”
Walk Bike Tampa helps influence community planning of safe walking and biking alternatives. “When it comes to bike riding, Florida is the most dangerous state in the country. We want to change that,” said Christine Acosta, Walk Bike Tampa’s Executive Director. “We want to make Tampa safer for residents, and we want to help attract energetic, healthy professionals to the market, which in turn, attracts businesses to Tampa. People who are thinking about relocating are comparing us to cities like Chicago, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle, so we need to provide lifestyle benefits like those cities offer to encourage them choose us. And, our current residents deserve safer walkways and bikeways. We want to get off the ‘Ten Most Dangerous Cities for Biking’ list.”
Many bicyclists are also craft beer enthusiasts, so it makes sense for like-minded companies to come together to serve a compatible audience. “Our customers often show up at Coppertail on bikes, especially when the weather is nice like it has been recently,” said Gary. “We think they’ll appreciate
the VIP treatment at local events, and it will give us a chance to reach cyclists who aren’t as familiar with our brand or our beer.”
Look for Coppertail Brewing Co. bike valet signs at local events soon.
