Nearly two dozen volunteers representing Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group recently experienced a magical week with Sunshine Kids from all over the U.S. and Canada at the Sunshine Kids Foundation’s Florida Fun-n-Sun Celebration in Orlando. Together, they ventured through the theme parks, took in the sights from above on The Orlando Eye, went swimming with dolphins at Discovery Cove and much more.
“Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group is honored to support this absolutely wonderful organization that does so much for children with cancer,” said Allen Crumbley, Broker/Owner of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group. “For more than 20 years, our firm has served as a proud partner of the Sunshine Kids Foundation. We are truly committed to supporting this well deserving organization.”
Locally and nationally, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices has supported, volunteered for, chaperoned and loved the Sunshine Kids. The many fundraising activities undertaken each year by the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network’s Brokers, managers and sales professionals play a major role in helping put smiles on the faces of children with cancer everywhere.
Since 1982, the Sunshine Kids Foundation has provided a variety of local, regional and national events involving thousands of young cancer patients from hospitals across North America. Unlike other charities that are focused on medical research, the Sunshine Kids Foundation is dedicated to providing positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients. All programs and activities, including transportation, lodging and food, are provided free of charge to children who are receiving cancer treatments and their attending medical staff. “Our team enjoys connecting with the kids, supporting the foundation through fundraising events and taking an active role in national events.” said Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group Broker/Owner Dewey Mitchell. “We are delighted to help the Sunshine Kids Foundation carry on its rewarding work of serving the needs of young cancer patients, although we truly hope one day we no longer need to raise money for this cause.”
