On October 26, 27, and 28 the members of the Clearwater Fire Department will be wearing pink shirts while on duty in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month. The Clearwater Firefighters Association members purchased their own pink shirts to wear in place of their standard navy blue shirts. With permission from City Administration, firefighters will do their part with the signature pink shirts to promote breast cancer awareness, as well as help one of their own participate in the upcoming Susan G. Komen 3 day walk. 100% of the proceeds from the shirt sales will go to charity, with over $1700 being donated to Susan G. Komen. Based on the statistics, I think it's safe to say we've all been affected or will be affected someday by breast cancer, whether it's a mother, grandmother, aunt, wife, sister, daughter or family friend.
If you need any further information, please contact John Klinefelter, Executive Vice President of the Clearwater Firefighters Association.
Thank you for your support in helping us promote breast cancer awareness.
