SPRING HILL, FL (October 15, 2010) – Eight girls, ages 5-6, from Girls Scout Daisy Troop #317 received a great lesson in business sense and moved to the beat of the latest exercise dance craze to celebrate Women’s Small Business Month in October.
“Our girls had a great time working out and dancing Zumba,” said Bridgette Riley-Patterson, Troop Leader. “But they also learned how there are many women out there changing the face of small business.”
Troop #317 visited Fit Moves Fitness on Spring Hill Drive where Hillary Ramondo explained a little about her aspirations as the owner of Fit Moves Fitness and encouraged the girls to reach their own goals.
“These young girls are at a very formative age,” said Ms. Ramondo. “It’s important that they see that women are capable of starting and running a successful small business.”
After the esson on small business ownership, all eight girls participated in an age-appropriate Zumba workout led by Ms. Ramondo. Zumba is a popular dance fitness regimen that fuses Latin rhythms with easy-to-follow moves.
“I had so much fun,” said Brenna Maloney, a member of Troop #317. “It was awesome to dance crazy with my friends!”
