The 16th Annual Joe Capitano, Sr. Golf Classic will be held at Tampa Palms Country Club on May 1, 2017 beginning at 7:00 AM with an 8:30 AM shot-gun start. A Central Park Village Youth Services (CPV) fundraising event, each year the organization holds the tournament to raise money to enable working with, supporting and assisting inner city and at risk children and their families. The essence of CPV's mission is to fundraise for Tampa's inner city youth and assist in providing them with a private education. The only way to break the cycle of poverty and hopelessness for these vulnerable youth is to surround them with a positive environment with the tools and education they need to succeed in life. As such, the Golf Classic is an excellent opportunity to raise money and increase awareness of CPV and its work.
Tickets and Sponsorships for the Classic are available online at 2017 Joe Capitano, Sr. Golf Classic. Play will be a shot-gun and scramble format. Prizes will be awarded for hole in one, longest drive, and closest to the pin. A continental breakfast and luncheon will be served.
Nicole Nassif, Co-Director of Development for St. Peter Claver Catholic School said, "Our strong legacy in Tampa Bay of educating youth for over 123 years and serving as Florida's oldest historically African-American elementary school is truly special. We serve deserving students from families experiencing extreme financial hardships, with 97% of our enrollment living at or below poverty levels. In order for us to successfully achieve our mission we need the support of our local community and are excited to have been selected as the beneficiary of the tournament."
