Tampa, FL: Wetherington Hamilton founding attorney Ted Hamilton was named to the Commercial Law League of America’s Board of Governors. The League itself is the nation’s oldest organization of attorneys, collection agencies, judges, accountants, trustees, turn around managers and other experts in credit and finance actively engaged in the field of commercial law, bankruptcy and insolvency. The Board of Governors acts as the League’s general supervision and provides direction of the officers, sections, committees and affairs of the League. Attorney Hamilton is well suited for board service having been a member of CLLA since 1996 and currently serving as the Editor in Chief of the League’s publication, Commercial Law World Magazine, a quarterly publication featuring the latest news from the bankruptcy, collections, credit and debt industry. Asked his thoughts on the appointment, attorney Hamilton said, “It is my great pleasure to be asked to serve on the CLLA Board of Governors this year.”
Mr. Hamilton also recently attended the Commercial law League of America’s 4th Annual Legislative Summit in Washington D.C. where League members and attendees met with Senator and House staffers from various judiciary committees and representatives. Those who attended noted that they were pleasantly surprised by the willingness of Congress to listen to their thoughts and ideas. The League believes that its members will be able to work with other like-minded creditor organizations (with whom they met in DC) to shape changes coming to the CFPB as well as legislative agendas for bankruptcy and creditor’s rights.
