TAMPA BAY, FL - The Tampa Bay Times is one of the presenting sponsors of the 29th Annual Tampa Bay Business Hall of Fame, an event that honors business leaders who have made significant corporate and civic contributions. The Hall of Fame ceremony will be held April 7, 2016 at the Tampa Convention Center. It is a signature event of the Florida Council on Economic Education (FCEE), which provides free teacher training programs, classroom curricula, and student competitions focused on economics and personal finance.
The Class of 2016 inductees are Jerry Divers, of The Bank of Tampa; Bryan Glazer, of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Brian Lamb, of Fifth Third Bank; Geoff Simon, of Simon & Associates Wealth Management of Raymond James; and, in memoriam, Harris Mullen, founder of Florida Trend magazine, a sister publication of the Times.
"We are delighted to join forces with the Council for its signature event," said Paul Tash, chairman and CEO of the Times. "The Council advances an educational cause that helps students become productive citizens, and the Hall of Fame dinner recognizes business leaders who have helped make Tampa Bay a vibrant and dynamic region. Both purposes align closely with the Times values and efforts."
"The FCEE is proud to have the Tampa Bay Times as our media sponsor for the 2016 Tampa Bay Business Hall of Fame," said David Boyd, FCEE executive director. "The Times longstanding commitment to quality business reporting and journalism is an ideal partnership for our organization. The FCEE and the Times share a commitment to empowering people to make informed decisions that enhance their lives, and we are excited to work with them on this venture for years to come."
