September 2017, Tampa, FL – Get out your lederhosen, dirndls & Tyrolean hats, and head to Coppertail Brewing Co. at the edge of Ybor City in Tampa to celebrate Oktoberfest.
The well-known German beer festival has been held in Munich since 1810, and it’s on its way to becoming a mainstay celebration at Coppertail for many years to come, too.
In addition to their regular lineup of outstanding beer, Coppertail will have several German fest-style beers available through the weekend including:
- Tampa Dunkel- a dark lager beer and the official beer of Oktoberfest Tampa 2017. It has been produced especially for Oktoberfest since 2015. ABV 5.2%
- Independent Pilsner- a German Style Pilsner with an ABV of 5.5%.
- Oktoberfest- a German-style ‘Marzen’ lager, ABV 5.8%
At Oktoberfest in Munich, over six million liters of beer are served. To help Coppertail count how many liters they will serve, special edition Coppertail liter steins will be available Saturday and Sunday. The quantity is limited, get yours early.
There will be entertainment including a German music playlist and games. A special Bavarian-style food menu will be offered by the S & V Kitchen at Coppertail. Many dishes will be infused with Coppertail beer. Highlights of the menu are a house pretzel with beer cheese made with Coppertail Oktoberfest, Scheinhaxe, a beer-roasted pork shank, and Jagerschnitzel, a veal cutlet with a Dunkel beer hunter's mushroom gravy over German 'himmel und erde,' (heaven and earth) mashed potatoes and warm sauerkraut.
Admission and parking are free and all ages are welcome. Bring your friends and your schatz (sweetheart) and join the fun. Prost!
