Guitarist Richard Gilewitz to Perform at the Art Center Theatre
Tickets are available now for the upcoming December 3rd concert featuring internationally acclaimed fingerstyle guitarist, Richard Gilewitz. This year's performance will be a special solo appearance by Richard who offers up a fresh show of new tunes and tales based on his extensive worldwide acoustic adventures. A Wine and Cheese Meet and Greet, starting at 7:00 pm, will precede the concert.
This annual benefit concert appearance⸺ which sells out to capacity each year⸺ brings this tireless performer to the stage with a few surprises up his sleeve. As Richard weaves his magic of moods, playing selections that span the musical genres, he fascinate listeners with 6 and 12-string finger gymnastics while spinning enchanting yarns of a seasoned raconteur. His signature style delivers technical diversity of banjo style patterns and classical arpeggios with a rhythmic percussive approach, exploring the history of guitar with sounds of folk to Americana, the blues to the classical, and somewhere in between.
Since Richard’s last appearance at the Art Center Theatre he has once again traveled to perform at the London Acoustic Show, the Clonakilty Ireland International Festival, the Main Stage at MusikMesse in Frankfurt, Germany, as well as a second tour of Germany in October and a month-long tour in New Zealand.
In addition to his European and United States touring schedule, Richard has released another book with Mel Bay Publications, “First Lessons Fingerstyle Ukulele” that will also be published in German by Doglinger of Austria for European distribution. This beginner’s ukulele book is the result of Richard’s expanding interest in stringed instruments and an accidental meeting of a UK distributor of ukuleles.
