Jewish Women International enters the fashion market, with a splatter-your-sneakers event.
World-famous glass artist Dale Chihuly, who has no association with this event, is also famous for dripping paint all over his sneakers as he works. When his exhibit was getting ready to open on St. Pete Beach, St. Pete bigwigs paraded around town in their own versions, and the Morean Arts Center, also no association with this event, gave lessons. It's fun, it's creative and it lets the imagination know no bounds.
On October 26, 2010, at 7 p.m., Jewish Women International members and guests will paint their own sneakers, a la Dale Chihuly. Open to the public, the event will be held at the JCC Suncoast North Center, 2075 Sunnydale Blvd, Clearwater. There will be a $5 charge for materials, and if you think you’re faster than the average 5th grader, you can bring two pair – no additional charge. Bring your own sneakers - old, new, fabric, leather, white, colors.
And, of course, refreshments will be served.
