McCormick’s Cable Park in Seffner sent a team of 15 wakeboarders, wakeskiers, and wakeskaters to the Cable Wakeboard National Points Chase Tournament (http://cablewakeboard.com/) at the Texas Ski Ranch in New Braunfels, TX, this past weekend. The McCormick’s team placed 2nd out of 8 teams nationally, finishing only behind the host team of TSR. Several team members advanced to the finals and two made it to the podium:
Chandler Powell, 13, Seffner – 2nd in the Intermediate Wake Board division
Dan Olsen, Auburndale – 1st Wakeski division (He was the team’s only all-event participant – wakeboard, wake ski, wakeskate)
Rachel Munsall – 5th Beginner Wakeboard
Danny Sardegna – 4th Intermediate Wakeboard
Travis Belsito – 4th Wakeskate
It is important to note that of the eight parks represented, McCormick’s was at a disadvantage because our cable is the only one in the country that runs clockwise. All other cable parks in the country run counterclockwise, including TSR.
We have photos of the competitors and the event, and a lot more information.

Other interesting angles – all members of the smaller Who?Crew competed (http://thewhocrew.com/) on the team in Texas; many of the riders own their own businesses; some are corporately sponsored; most ride at McCormick’s (http://www.skimccormick.com/) several days a week; most members of the team recently premiered in a movie at the 2010 Surf Expo in Orlando.
