The SW Florida Tiny House Expo is coming to Hardee Lakes Park in Bowling Green, FL Nov. 10-12, 2017, Veteran’s Day weekend. It is a fundraiser for Hardee Habitat for Humanity so they can build houses in our community. A donation will also be made to the Bowling Green Police Dept. for equipment.
This event will combine the grass-roots Tiny House movement and the Live Large by Building Small movement to promote living a more purposeful, sustainable life. We are all about sharing information, environmental advocacy, and sustainability.
The Expo will offer presentations by industry experts and Tiny owners who wish to share their experience with others. Topics will include building and zoning regulation, insurance, NOAH Certification, DIY building or buying from a builder, design, sustainability, water conservation, permaculture, aquaponics, hydroponics, solar power, xeriscaping, debt reduction and more. Our passionate team is committed to providing a unique experience while remaining consistent to our mission of Live Large by Building Small!
We have managed to get some of the most recognized movers and shakers in the Tiny House Industry. HGTV Host Derek “Deek” Diedricksen is our Keynote speaker and a builder, author, blogger and all around great guy. Andrew Odom is the Emcee for the event and is a builder, author, social media strategist, magazine editor, high school CTE mentor, and has been in the Tiny House movement since 2009. Leanne Stephens is a blogger and a passionate advocate for Tiny living. She can help put you on the path to living a more purposeful life. Andrew Bennett is a builder and one of the founders of NOAH certification and an expert on eco-friendly camping solutions. Brian Kennedy’s claim to fame is that he is 6’8” and is building a tiny home.
In addition to presentations all day, you can tour Tiny houses brought by builders, Tiny houses brought by owners who can tell you what it’s like to live in them, and we will also have converted school buses called Skoolies. Throw in a few vintage campers that have been remodeled and called Glampers and even a Gypsy Wagon or two. Last, but not least, there are food vendors and other vendors offering related products for sale and a concert on Saturday night.
We are more than just an event, we are a movement toward living a more purposeful, sustainable life by downsizing to a smaller home and reducing our debt. Come join us – you won’t be disappointed - it supports a great cause – Hardee Habitat for Humanity! Camping available onsite.
